The Lincoln Motor Company would certainly like you to think so, anyway. That they’re rising from the ashes, that is. That’s why they named their new model MKZ Phoenix. (Or maybe they just love Arizona?) This ad is about as typical as car commercials get: lots of beauty shots of a spotlesscly clean car racing around in striking landscapes. But it features one thing that threw us a bit: why is president Abraham Lincoln apparently watching the car drive by? Look, we love Honest Abe, but he just doesn’t make us want to buy a car any more than we already did. Great leader? Yes. Great orator? Yes. Great car pitchman? Not really…
