Ram Lays it on Thick. In more than two minutes of commercial (an epic length, remember, by Super Bowl standards, and expensive as hell) the folks who make Ram trucks went way too far with their whole “and so he made a farmer” shtick.
By the end of the ad, you could be forgiven for thinking that America’s farmers raised every crop the world has ever seen, started and then ended WWII, painted most of the later works of Henri Matisse, and handled the translation of the King James Bible.
The message of the ad is nice enough: farmers are tough, independent, important, etc. The execution pours it on with a damn fire hose, and it turned us off Ram truck for at least a week or two.
