This spot is as unimaginative and underwhelming as the original Apple 1984 commercial, that it’s intended to say “goodbye” to, was powerful and inspiring. While the gadget-nerd inside us can appreciate the beautiful capabilities of this upcoming tablet, you can’t sell the Super Bowl-viewing public on this with something that looks like it was created in Windows Movie Maker.

One of the many things Apple knows how to do well is market their product to people who will buy it (read: everybody in the universe), and a set of white headphones on a planet isn’t going to undo their marketing machine any time soon. Sorry Motorola, this one’s a fail. Maybe Mr. Ochocinco will have better luck talking up the XOOM on Twitter.
