Gay Dating ( ManCrunch ) Superbowl Commercial rejected

February 2, 2010

In a wise move, CBS have rejected a commercial for the gay dating site Man Crunch (eh?). Given that this would have been a LOT more controversial than say.. pro-choice v/s anti-choice (isnt anti-choice a choice some people make?), we can see the rational behind this.

Needless to say, these folks also know that getting rejected from the superbowl commercials saves you money and creates more viral buzz than actually paying for and having your commercial show during the game.

However, it was ok in 2007, since the ad was not really about a gay dating site and was about Snickers. Everyone loves snickers!

Anti-Choice is the stance of folks who are against allowing a woman to have a choice with regards to her own body and terminating a pregnancy for whatever reason.

So yes, it’s folks choosing to allow the gov’t. (typically in the name of religion) to take away a woman’s individual choice (her freedom to choose for herself).

Why the hell wasn’t this in the super bowl? It was the greatest one!

This looks like something done for MadTV or SNL.
Great commercial but I don’t know if I believe its real.
I think there actually was something very similar for Snickers – where the gay male attraction was much more subtle. But it too was blocked and only seen online. If I’m wrong about that then I apologize. ;-)
