Coke – Sleepwalking – Super Bowl 2010

Share

February 8, 2010

You gotta hand it to Coke, they know how to make a commercial. First of all, it’s funny. Second of all, it’s shot beautifully and makes us want to go on Safari like, immediately (especially if there’s a Coke at the end of the Safari… dammit, see how fast advertising works?) We’re fans of all the recent Coke commercials, and if Coke wasn’t as terrible for you as it was, we’d be bathing in the thing.

…and in HD…

It may be a nice commercial, but it is a COPY of a commercial for Yotvata chocolate milk

  2. Leah on February 8th, 2010 7:56 pm

total rip-off of the Yotvata commercials, even down to the music.

  3. Nicole on February 8th, 2010 10:18 pm

    Completely unoriginal…

  4. Ilpalazzo on February 8th, 2010 10:28 pm

It’s kinda like those, but much moreso a rip-off of the Ravel Bolero sequence from the movie Allegro Non Troppo, where evolution begins when an astronaut discards a coke bottle on a planet and a long march of evolution, full of obstacles, leads to man and his devious inventions waiting at the end of it all.

Very nice commercial — rip off or not. Never saw the other ads that might be its predecessors. Enjoyed the walk with the animals.

To clarify: Yotveta is an Israeli milk company that had these commercials broadcast for years now.

It is a complete rip off of copy rights of a commercial that was done is osreal by a company called Y&R founded by Shalmor Avnon and Amichai. The israeli commercial is for chocolate milk, and is situated in the dessert showing a young man sleep walking with his hand reached out in front of him till he gets to the product. it is the exact same back round music and same theme. It’s a rather disgraceful copy and raises questions of an immenent lawsuite.

Rip Off! Totally the entire concept of the Yotvata chocolate milk (which is absolutely delicious) commercial. Shame on them!

It’s why Pepsi chose not to purchase a Superbowl ad spot. They wanted coke to look dumb for the year.

Too bad coke (with real SUGAR) in the classic bottles aren’t available in stores any more…

The add may be a copy, but unlike that one….this one was watched. I like it.

  12. Sharon on February 9th, 2010 10:27 am

Does anyone know the name of the classical piece and the composer playing in this commercial?
My daughter gets extra credit for this tidbit of knowledge. : )

    Never mind i found it.

Who in the US is watching Israeli commercials? I’ve never seen any of the chocolate milk commercials people are talking of. I’m a huge coke drinker though. I have to have my daily coca-cola, but I honestly didn’t like the commercial. I like the christmas commericals better than that.

This is a rip off. It’s a whole series of commercials that were done in the last 6-7 years. The sweetheart actor who plays the character is Michael Hangebi.

Here is the Israeli news (sorry, in Hebrew, but has the comparison between the two commercials):

Yes it might have been stolen but who ever made it is a good at what they do! Legal issues come with a tissue. How much of this stuff happens in every country out there?!?!?!?! Think about it!!!! I love chocolate milk by the way wish I could try your popular brand but I cannot. Why worry about this it makes no sense to get upset I’m sure America has it’s ad’s in your land with a twist as well.
Wish the best to all! Later Folks.

Europe has the real football you misinform miscreant….if you were intelligent enough, you be knowing that Europe had the sport football, or what what ours countries fools call soccer, first. Our “football” is actually, if I recall, a version of their rugby…which came much later. So tell me, how can a sport that came much much later then the first one, be called true football? That defies any sense of logic. That’s like putting the number 2 before the number 1 when counting. You just been brainwashed, like millions of other mindless fans, into thinking that a sport, that has very little use of the feet(other then running and the kick-off) would be called the true football. Think about it…you kick a ball around in real football(soccer).

I know what you might or probably will say…something uneducated like a cuss word(s), or insult, or something of that nature, or something about being in a better country, heard them all, nothing new…you people are all the same, just ramble on when proven wrong, and have to insist you are right, even though history dictates otherwise. You can argue with history, it’s set in stone.
