The Super Bowl is famous for nothing if not ridiculously inflated advertising prices, with 30-second slots this year going for as high as $3.5 million. Ad to that the multi-million dollar budgets that some commercial productions require, and you have serious companies paying serious money for 30 seconds of your attention.

Here is the current listing of known advertisers for the upcoming game, including what product we think they may be pushing and how much time they’re buying. We’ll keep on top of this and update it as more becomes official.

Audi & Hyundai Betting Big On Super Bowl XLVI

Both Audi and Hyundai, two automakers with wildly differing past Super Bowl commercial strategies, are once again making big ad pushes in the big game next February 2012. For Audi this (hopefully) represents a continued trend of memorable, creative commercials that has extended back for the past five games. For Hyundai it’s (hopefully) an attempt to gain more recognition in the North American market after the 2011 Super Bowl’s run of boring, strange, and downright off-putting ads.

Doritos has raised the stakes with this year’s Crash The Super Bowl contest, the brilliant marketing campaign where they get millions of people to do their advertising work for them in exchange for a chance at seeing their commercial air during the big game. They have thankfully chosen to leave Pepsi out of the mix this time around.

Anheuser-Busch InBev Announces Ad For New Beer

Bud-Light

AB InBev revealed this past week that they would be featuring their new, higher alcohol version of Bud Light in a 2012 Super Bowl ad. The beer itself is set to launch January 30 after a series of nationwide tasting events on New Year’s eve. As Bud Light has parted ways with DDB, the advertiser for the 2011 Super Bowl’s series of commercials, it is unclear who will be creating the commercial for this new beverage.

2012 Super Bowl Date & Venue
