The Voice – 2012 – Promo

the voice

We wanted to hate this so much when we heard about it weeks ago, but it turned out great. Watching Adam Levine get socked in the nose has been the highlight of our weekend! If only the real show were anything like this, it might actually be worth watching.

Hulu Plus – 2012 – Huluboratory

Hulu-Plus_Logo

Will Arnett picks up where Alec Baldwin left off, showing us the inner workings of the “Huluboratory”, where the evil alien plot to take over our minds is hatched and perfected. This ad moves too fast to be laugh-out-loud funny, but it’s definitely entertaining.

Toyota camry – 2012 – Connections

toyota

Toyota takes the emotional route on this spot, showing how the storied Camry brand has touched the lives of generations of people. It’s not loud, funny, or particularly interesting per se, but we think it sets the right message for the Camry brand and delivers it well.

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation – 2012 – Movie Trailer

gi joe

Despite the first movie being utterly terrible, the trailer for the inevitable G.I. Joe sequel will make its Super Bowl debut this Sunday. What’s striking about this sequel is how not-terrible it actually looks, like the G.I. Joe movie the first one should have been. And wait until the end… you won’t believe who’s in it.

E*Trade – 2012 – Fatherhood

The E*Trade baby is back, so… yay? Everyone makes a big deal about having live chimps in a commercial, but nobody cares about exploiting a human baby. Typical animal rights lefties. We have to question the wisdom of taking financial advice from a baby, even if it can talk.

Doritos – 2012 – Sling Baby

We’re not sure we would have stopped at just taking this creep’s chips. Take the baby out of the sling and stick a brick in it, that’s more like what the little punk deserves. What kind of parent leaves their two kids in the care of an invalid, anyway?

Cars.com – 2012 – Neck

CDC_FourColor_CMYK_tagline_w

Cars.com has finally gone off the deep end, and released what has to be the creepiest Super Bowl commercial ever. Although at first glance it seems so horribly and unbelievably wrong, if you give it a chance you may find yourself hooked.

Skechers – 2012 – GO RUN Mr. Quiggly!

SKECHERS20LOGO

However you feel about dog racing, the sight of a French Bulldog in running shoes is absolutely hilarious. This spot from Skechers was way better than last year’s embarrassment, and was approaching “halfway-decent” until the bulldog did the moonwalk. Mark Cuban makes a cameo.

Teleflora – 2012 – Adriana Lima

teleflora-logo

The official title of this spot tells you everything you need to know. We think it’s safe to say that where they dropped the ball with last year’s ad, Teleflora will get everyone’s attention this time around. It’s not creative, but it’s sexy and effective.

The Avengers – 2012 – Movie Trailer

the avengers

Avengers Assemble! We finally get a full-length look at one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters. We think this film will either be an amazing action tour-de-force or a complete and utter disaster, but either way it’ll be a fun ride. There’s also a longer cut available through their Facebook page.

Chevy Sonic – 2012 – Stunt Anthem

chevy

Chevy offers a look at their new Sonic performing a series of “firsts”: skydiving, bungee jumping, kick flipping, and performing with OK GO in a music video. It’s a fun commercial for what looks like a fun car, and the giant skateboard is amazing. Balls-of-steel award goes to the driver in the kick-flip stunt.

Coca-Cola – 2012 – The Catch

coke

This spot features an element that may change based on the course of the game. Coke executives will be standing by, ready to make the call on which version to air. This, along with some online elements featuring the iconic bears, should make for an interesting commercial experiment.
