Bridgestone produces consistently entertaining commercials for the Super Bowl year after year, and for Super Bowl XLVI they are once again sponsoring the halftime show. They just kicked off their 2012 ad campaign with a spot that aired during the Bridgestone Winter Classic, giving hockey fans and NFL something to gnaw on as a lead-up to the Super Bowl.
Bridgestone – 2011 – Carma
They spelled “Carma” with a “c”, get it? This is sort of a “pay it forward” type thing, only as it applies to the animal kingdom, or “today you, tomorrow me” if you’re a Redditor. What we can’t shake is the feeling that they’re promoting terribly unsafe driving practices by suggesting we should stop for little forest critters when they come into the road. It’s not as if we go out of our way to run them over if we do see a creature on the highway, but isn’t it awfully dangerous to stop suddenly to avoid hitting little forest dwellers?
Bridgestone – 2011 – Reply All
Every office drone’s worst nightmare, as well it’s wildly impossible but utterly satisfying solution, is played out in this great bit from Bridgestone tires. The subtle hint from the camera work is that you couldn’t possibly do everything shown in this commercial without excellent tires, but that of course conveniently ignores the abilities of driver in question or, you know, the laws of physics. Take a tip from all of us who used to work in drab, dingy offices: just remove the “reply all” button from your email toolbar.
Bridgestone Teases New Super Bowl Ads
Bridgestone Tires, sponsor of the Super Bowl XLV half time show featuring the Black Eyed Peas, has two new commercials for this year’s Super Bowl. Their entries in past years have been pretty good, and it looks like they’re swinging for the fences for the 2011 Super Bowl spots. One involves office politics and the other involves a chipmunk or badger or something. We really don’t know much about furry woodland creatures.
