Rumor has it that a recently recorded song by Irish superstar rock band U2 will get its worldwide debut during an upcoming Super Bowl commercial. While details are still spotty, we believe the song – a single titled “Invisible”– is going to run during a Super Bowl commercial advertising the band’s forthcoming studio album.
Fans found out about the recording session, which took place in Santa Monica, California, and flocked to the location hoping to hear the band playing. Some internet users have released low quality videos taken from outside the venue, and while the audio is weak (in fact we’re not even going to bother posting it, you’ll just have to wait) it was indeed confirmed as U2 playing.
U2 is having quite a 2014 so far: not only will their song be premiering while millions of people are watching their televisions, but they also just won the Golden Globe award for Best Original Song for their song “Ordinary Love” created for the biopic about Nelson Mandela called “Long Walk to Freedom.”
