The second Super Bowl XLVIII commercial from Chevy just about makes up for the first one. This ad could not be much simpler, yet could not be much more powerful. It simply shows a couple driving along in a truck and reaching out to hold one another’s hands.

We soon realize that the thoughts the couple are silently sharing are about a cancer diagnosis. Pretty heavy stuff for a Super Bowl ad, but in the minute we spend with these people we see more resolve and strength than we do sadness and fear.

So we get it: These people are strong. And Chevy is strong, Chevy is proud. Regardless of what you feel about the truck, the ad is something to be proud of.
