Time Warner pulled out all the stops for their Super Bowl XLVIII spot, didn’t they? They got Puff Daddy, the guys from “Duck Dynasty,” a vampire, a bunch of people dressed in Renaissance-era and WWII outfits, and even some sort of teleporting device. Oh and Jimmy Fallon, he’s here too.

We think this ad is trying a bit too hard and lacks a genuineness – it feels very much like the product of an ad agency rather than a filmmaker.

But it makes its point: you can enjoy Time Warner cable on a range of devices with good speed and reliability.

So while it’s not our favorite ad ever, and while we’re not impressed by an ad just because it’s got a lot of celebrities in it, the commercial conveys a message, so it passes the test.
