Well, it has finally been released, the 2018 Squarespace Super Bowl commercial starring Keanu Reeves and co-promoting the actor/entrepreneur’s motorcycle brand, Arch Motorcycle. You will probably feel like you have already seen this ad, really, because the Squarespace Super Bowl LII teaser was strikingly similar the commercial the brand is running as their official ad.
In the official Squarespace Super Bowl commercial, like in the teaser, a bearded Reeves sits by campfire flickering in the darkness of the nighttime mountains while designing a website on his laptop. Also, he lies on his back and makes motorcycle noises. Which was kind of charming, really.
While not likely to be remembered alongside such past great’s like Apple’s 1984 Super Bowl commercial, this ad works thanks to the charisma of its star.
