The Super Bowl LII WeatherTech commercial shows a montage using both quick editing and time-lapse photography to show a factory being constructed. At the end of the ad, white text superimposed over a black background reads: “At WeatherTech, we built our new factory right her in America. Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?”

Well, asking that question is really begging the question by assuming there is indeed a way anything is “supposed to be” in our world community. But we’ll leave that aside and instead ask another question: for much of the 2018 WeatherTech Super Bowl commercial, what does it look like they’re building, a factory, or a wall?

When asked if the ad was a not-so-subtle reference D. J. Trump’s border wall, the company’s CEO, David MacNeil, said that presumption was “ridiculous.” But clearly he was the one being ridiculous, because that’s exactly what the commercial was going for.

Stand by for some asinine Tweet from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue praising this xenophobic spot.
