The 2018 Jeep Super Bowl commercial promoting the 2019 Jeep Cherokee is not exactly cutting edge material: it talks about how all roads end but the journey need not stop there, letting you draw the conclusion that when you’re driving a Jeep Cherokee, you can keep on cruising on your own adventure.

We’ve seen that before a hundred times in car commercials, and many times in Super Bowl car commercials at that.

But while it’s hardly groundbreaking, the Jeep Super Bowl LII commercial still works fine, really, because it makes the brand seem confident and self-assured.

Super Bowl car commercials don’t introduce a brand new make and model of vehicle, remember; rather they help nudge a buyer who was already looking for a vehicle and likely already narrowed down to a few over the finish line to commit.
