Well… well… well… who would have thought it? There is, apparently, room enough in Super Bowl advertising for not one but two different laundry detergent brands.
Early on in the Super Bowl LII broadcast we saw a solid ad (followed by a mini spot) for Tide. Then, closer to halftime, we saw a Persil Pro Clean Super Bowl commercial.
While the Tide ad was clever and unique and self-effacing, the Persil commercial was a bit more direct and certainly simpler.
But it made its point (this is a detergent you can buy that will clean your clothes… that’s the point) in half the time, so even if they enjoy smaller returns than tide, still might work for ’em big picture.
